The residents of Adeta area in Ilorin West Local Government of Kwara State had been thrown into panic over an old unregistered scooter that was parked in front of Agbobamu’s compound.
It was gathered that the white Vespa was parked in front of Agbobamu’s compound by unknown person for two weeks with no body coming to claim for the ownership of the Vespa or making inquiry about it.
Speaking on the development, a resident in the community, Alhaji Ibrahim Ayinde Agbobamu, said he woke up on Sunday morning and saw the strange motor bike.
According to him, “I woke up to discover the scooter right in front of my house last Sunday morning. Initially, I assumed the owner might run out of fuel and had gone in search for petroleum.
“But for some days, I didn’t see anyone coming for the machine, my worries based on suspicion and then grew into fear, this was since two weeks now.
“What could be motive behind such actiin, especially in this era of insecurity where anything and everything of such is potential danger and dangerously implicative,” he said.
Also, another resident in the area, Mallam Mihay Issa said they are now sleep under tension and fear because of the development.
“We slept on the previous Saturday on to woke to discover that the Vespa was parked in front of my house and the case has been reported to the police for urgent action due to environment security wise is too fragile not to be concerned with such development.
“Imagine the police station at Adewole telling us that they don’t get fuel to come and do the needful, leaving the residents the supposed to protect in fear”, he lamented.
When contacted on Sunday, the spokesman of the Kwara State Police Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, said the matter had not been brought to his attention.
