The students of Government High School (GHS) UBE section Adeta Ilorin have been advised the students to be of good behaviour both at home and during the school hours to justify their parents spendings.
The advice was given by the chairman of the School Based Management Committee (SBMC), of the school, Mallam Issa Saliu during the first term interactive meeting held at the school premises between the committee members and class representatives on Tuesday.
The chairman charged the students to be more serious, dedicated and committed to their studies, pointing out that education is the best lagacy that parents can leave behind for their children.
He warned them desist from bad habits and joining bad group as such acts can tarnish the good image of the school and their parents.
He praised the efforts of the state government and the school old students association on the ongoing physical structural renovation in the school, assuring that SBMC of the college will always try within it’s capability to facilitate good learning environment for the students.
He appealed to the staff of the school be friendly with the students for them to get before hand information to curb criminal activities in the school compound, the students and calling for Cooperation and support from members of the committee for the school development.
In his remarks, the Vice Principal Administration, Alhaji Aliyu Nasiru thanked the SBMC’s Chairman, Mallam Issa Saliu for finding time out of tight schedule, hoping that the school will gain alot from his wealth of experience.
In her appreciation, the Principal of the school, Hajia Iyabo Salma elogised the efforts of Ilorin West LGEA Secretary, Hajia Afusat Funmilayo Usman, the Ilorin West Local Social Mobilisation Officer, Mr. Ilobu Ahmed and Mrs. S.A. Baqi for their readiness for quality education in the local government.
She however, admonished teachers to be more dedicated and hard work on their job, maintaining that the reward of teachers is not only in heaven but also on hearth.
