Air Force Commander, Commends NSCDC, Seeks Collaborative Efforts On Security


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has been identified as one of the critical elements of the nation’s security architecture whose major contribution to the security well being of the country cannot be underestimated.

The new Commander of the 303 Medium Airlift Group , Nigeria Air Force , in Ilorin Kwara State, Air Commodore GI Jibia dropped the hint during his courtesy visit to the NSCDC Commandant in Kwara State Makinde Iskil Ayinla at the Command’s headquarters in Ilorin on Monday.

The Commander, who recently resumed duty at his new post stated that the fundamental reason for the courtesy visit was to seek hand of the NSCDC as no security agency can succeed in isolation.


” As the Chief of Defence Staff stated recently, the country is bleeding security wise and we are in a very challenging situation but we believe there is a need for all the security agencies to come together and work together. It is through this collaborative effort that we can be result oriented” The Air Force boss explained.

He stated further that over the years NSCDC has played major roles in the security set up of the country, adding that for it has become imperative to seek collaborative effort of the Corps in order to achieve set out goals and objectives.

He later explained that the 303 Medium Airlift Group of the Nigeria Air Force is established to to provide all the medium airlifting requirements of the Nigeria Air Force that would assist her to accomplices her own security mandate across the country.

In his response, the NSCDC Commandant in Kwara State Makinde Iskil Ayinla admitted that Nigeria is facing security challenges at the moment adding that it has truly became imperative for the security operatives to collaborate and work together.

The Commandant, who recalled the working relationship between NSCDC and the Nigeria Army cam be dated back to 1967 during the Nigeria civil war and the establishment of the Corps, assured the Air Force boss of the NSCDC readiness to parley with the Air Force.
