The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), has sealed up the mansion belonging to the former Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Abdulfatah.
Disclosing this on a released video on Wednesday by a lawyer to AMCON, Barrister (Chief) Robert Iwazor, said the former governor owned the AMCON and the Federal Government of Nigeria five billion naira.
He said the governor Abdulfatah Ahmed who served two terms as governor of the state mansion besieged with 35 team of armed mobile policeman at 9A GRA Ilorin on Wednesday September, 22nd 2021.
“We are come to take over the mansion belonging to the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed”, he said.
He explained that the mansion will not return to the debtor until the payment is meant, adding that the former Governor Ahmed will not have access to secure the property any longer.
“Nigeria must move forward. It is an obligation that debtor must paid debt”, he stressed.
The jurist disclosed that former Governor Ahmed was given the opportunity to negotiate the payment of five billion naira he owing but refused and the law must take its course as law is not respecting anyone.
He further said federal government has taken over the property of former Governor Abdulfatah located in Ilorin the Kwara State Capital pending his companies would pay their debt, disclosing that AMCON team are moving toward Abuja for the siezure of his property.
