Be Active In Politics, Don’t Join Obsolete Group, Yeketi Tells Youth


The former Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Engr. Musa Yeketi has advised youths in the state to be Progressive minded by organized themselves together to pressure group.

Yeketi in his good will messages made the advice at Ogele in Asa local government area of Kwara state on Thursday during the inauguration ceremony of Grass-Roots Agenda Movement (GRAM), said youths are to free themselves from used and dumped politicians.


He explained that it is high time for youths in all the sixteen local governments to join hands to fight for their right through a strong formidable voice to wresttlle power from All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in kwara state.

Yeketi warned them not to join unrelevant associations formed by obsolete politicians who misled previous administrations, adding that what they are after is to acquire wealth in whatever form for their families.

In his remarks, Alhaji Abdulrafiu Ara-oje narrated that the association was formed by some like minds youth in the local government in December, 2020 to sensitise members of the public particularly women and youths on their right from the governments, encouraging them to reached out to the people at grass roots.

He disclosed that some of agenda of the association also is support the people at grass roots in scholarship, renovation of dilapidated class rooms, repairing of damaged bore holes and roads rehabilitation among others.

He appealed to wealth individuals to come to their aide financial and kind to implement the propose programme.

Earlier in his welcome address, the State Assistant Coordinator of Grass roots Model Initiatives, Hon. Abdulrauf Omotosho appreciated all invited guests for sparing their time to attend.

He said the founders of the movement came up with different ideology and formed the association across the seventeen wards of the local government, pointing out that executives were carefully selected in all the wards that comprises Asa local government.

He appealed to all political stalwart across the state to lend their support whenever members need assistance, calling on the executives to cooperate with one another for success and progress of the movement.

Others include, Mrs. Abdulganiy Wasilat, Assistant Treasure, Mallam Muritala Abdulsalam, Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Nike Salaudeen, Assistant PRO ii, Mallam Lukman Oba, Assistant PRO iii, Mallam Mutalubi Ayinla, Organizing Secretary, Mallam Sikiru Issa, Assistant Organizing Secretary, Mallam Tunde Oloore, Financial Secretary, Mallam Abubakar Owo-iya, Assistant Financial Secretary, Mrs. Saadu Omotayo, Welfare Officer, Mallam Abdulmumeen Musa, Auditor and Hammed Adewole, Ex-offocio.
