Northern Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Celebration (PDP) have accused the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration of intimidating colleagues to affix the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Naijastudies that the Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, said this after a gathering along with his colleagues in Abuja, late on Wednesday.
Recall that the Governors of Ebonyi, Cross River and Zamfara; David Umahi, Ben Ayade and Bello Matawalle respectively, have lately joined the APC from the PDP.
Ishaku requested the federal authorities to cease intimidating members of the opposition.
He accused the current administration of not doing something for the North regardless of controlling political energy.
Ishaku mentioned, “All governors of the PDP who’ve joined the ruling APC in latest instances, did so due to intimidation. Most of our members are additionally being intimidated persistently. We would like the intimidation stopped as a result of we aren’t snug with it.
“All of us resolved that the APC authorities has not supplied the management wanted within the North. And so, we the PDP governors within the North are usually not happy with the management of the APC authorities within the North.
”And we’re drawing the eye that regardless that the management is within the North, our area is being short-changed. We would like that statement to be famous.
“We the PDP governors have also resolved that, on our own, to continue to do our best for our people as we have already been doing in our various states.”
Different Northern PDP governors who attended the assembly are Samuel Ortom (Benue), Aminu Tanbuwal (Sokoto) , Bala Muhammed (Bauchi) and Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa).
