Clean Environment: Kwara Begins Placement of RoRo Bins.

The Kwara State Government has on Tuesday began to place “RoRo” bins in strategic positions in the city of Ilorin, the state capital.

The exercise which was led by the Commissioner for Environment, Mrs. Banigbe Remilekun Oluwatobi is part of the effort, put in place by AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration to stop Indiscriminate dump of refuse that has been constituting nuisance in the city.

In an interview with the commissioner, she appealed to the residents to make proper use of the ‘RoRo’ bins and desist from dumping refuse on road sites on the major cities in Kwara State.


Banigbe further implored the people to stop dumping refuse in the drainage systems so as to avoid flood related problems, assuring that Dino trucks have also been fixed and are readily available to pick up the waisted products for offloading as at when due.

She said the areas the bins have been deployed to include; Maraba, Post Office, Gada/Taiwo Isale and Challenge while the exercise continues in other areas tomorrow.
Recalled that last Saturday, the commissioner reiterated the governor’s effort in ensuring a dirt free dusty bins society in the state.
