Community Commends Kwara Gov. Over Bridge Construction.

Magaji Gerewu Community in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Ibrahim Amosa has commended the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for taken over the construction of Gerewu bridge.

Magaji made the commendation at the project site when NigeriaRealNews’ reporter visited the project site.
He disclosed that the community had already commenced works on the project with money contributed by the people living in the area.
The traditional ruler praised the governor and prayed for his successful tenure in office.
Also speaking, the community project supervisor, Mallam Ibrahim Kofoworola said it was terrible for the residents of community during last year rain as the bridge collapsed.
He stated that a couple on motorcycle nearly fell into high volume of water that over flown the bridge, pointing out that the couple was rescued by the people around.
He hinted that the community have planed ahead before the rain start to prevent last year occurrences by formed a committee that would be in-charge of the bridge construction.
“We have started working on the construction of the bridge before the state government through Ministry of Works and Transport came to take over the construction.
Kofoworola appreciated the State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for taken over the project, urging him to moblize the contractor to begins and complete the work before the rain start because the season is gradually approaching.
Another member of the community, Mallam Salaudeen Abdullahi narrated that it has been long that the community was spending repairing the bridge, lamenting that the problem remain same.
He said at times, people parked their vehicles at other end of the bridge during heavy downpour, stressing that many people stayed at their friends or relatives houses till next day.
He however, thanked the State Executive Governor for responding to their requests.
