Hon. Zakari Mohammed, Others Get Youth Legacy Awards.

The former member of House of Representatives at National Assembly Abuja, Hon. Zakari Mohammad and three others eminent personalities in the society have been honoured with Saraki Legacy awards in Ilorin.

The programme which was held at Agbaji quarters in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State was sponsored by the Agbaji Community in collaboration with Youth Earnestly for Saraki(YES) on Saturday.

In his sermon at the programme, an Ilorin based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Sulaiman Dan-Bornu called on wealthy individuals to always give lending hands to lesspriviledged people in the society to reduce poverty.

He stated that any philanthropists that give Alms to the needy people will be rewarded with Al-janat fridous hereafter, reminding that philanthropists should not expect gratitude from the beneficiaries.

Cleric admonished parents to educate, feed, clothe and be vigilant over their wards, stressing that a child with proper care would surely be useful to the family, immidiate community, state and the nation at large.

He encouraged mothers to not only look after their biological children but also fell concern about others children of their neighbours for Almighty Allah to be catering for their children more than they do to others children.

He said that the sustainable engagement of youths is the answer to achieving peace and progress in Kwara State, adding that given support to serious minded youth to creating jobs for them to self-reliance on the small and medium-sized businesses to get people out of poverty.

Earlier in his paper tittle “Islam and Healthy Living presented at the programme, the quest speaker a senior lecturer from Department of Physiology, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital(UITH), Dr. T.O. Ayinde said physical exercise good for body.

He stressed that streets walking and others exercises can regulate hypertension, kidney, diabetes, body pains, adding that regular medical checkup can lead to early dictect of unsuspected illment.

He advised people to maintain at least six hours sleep in a day, warning against drinking of al-cohol, smoking of cigarettes and others illicit drugs that can cause problems for lung, heart and liver and maintain personal hygiene.

In his vote of thanks, the President and National Coordinator of forum, Mallam Bashir Aduramigba appreciated entire Agbaji Community and all members of Youth Earnestly for Saraki.


He however, commended the awardees, various groups and associations, security agents, Media, clerics and eminent personalities who generously donated some empowerment tools and cash for the success of the programme.


Highlights of programmes include reading from Holy Qur’an and Hadith, presentation of legacy awards to some distinguished personalities in the society.
