The Chairman of Ilorin Grammar School ( IGS), Alhaji Abubakar Akanbi on behalf of 1981 set of the school presented 50 set of furniture for the use of students of the college to support Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq’s efforts in transformation of the state education.
The chairman made this known during the presentation of the furnitures to the school authority on Wednesday, praising the relentless efforts of the school principal, management and staff of the school in making sure that the school is one of the best secondary schools in the state.
He charged both the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school to redouble their effort and put the school among best standard institution in Nigeria, advising the students to face their studies as justify their parents struggle.
He also urged them to distance from bad group and taking illicit drugs for them to useful to their parents, family, societies, the state and the country as a whole.
Akanbi hinted that 1981 set will equipped all the three science laboratories in the school, stating that Chemistry, Biology and Physics, commending Alhaji Toyin Makaifa for the donation of text books with other learning materials.
Receiving the items on behalf of the students, the Principal of the school, Hajia Muslimat Iyabo Abdullahi thanked 1981 set for the donation, describing it a timely donation.
She appreciated Kwara State Governor, Mallam Adulrahman Abdulrasaq, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sahadat Modibbo Kawu for their assistance on the school.
She promised that the items donated would judiciously used in appreciation to the donation, soliciting for more donation from other sets.
