The Kwara State Police Command has arrested and arrainged three persons suspected who was alleged to be involved in stealing of police command property at Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin for criminal trespass, house breaking by night.
According to the police First Information Report (FIR), one Sergent Andrew Jacob attached to the Anti-kidnapping section of the police state command headquarters Ilorin arrested a food vendor, Tolulope Adeola Babatunde in the police headquarters Ilorin Command.
FIR said that the suspect was arrested and when he was subjected to questions, it was discovered that the suspect stole the items from where it was kept in police headquarters premises.
Further investigations conducted by the police led to the recovery of four other boundless of some corrugated iron roofing sheets, one polystar plasma television, one century table fan and one has cylinder earlier stole by the same suspect from various offices in the police headquarters premises.
Investigations also led to the arrest of Ojoge Saheed who reside at opposite’A’ division police station Ilorin and Oluwole Adedamola of Coa Cola road Ilorin who was allegedly at the receiving end of the stolen property.
In his self defence, the suspect denied the allegations said he was an innocent of the crime, explaining that he was a footller and a final year student from department of business administration from University of Lagos.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Nasir urged the court not grant the suspect bail because the police investigations is still ongoing.
In his rulling, the trial Magistrate, the Chief Magistrate A.M. Ibrahim ordered for the remand of the suspect at correctional centre Ilorin and the case was adjourned to 1st July, 2021 for further hearing.
