In One Day, Kwara Police Arraings 27 Crime Suspects At Ilorin Magistrate Court.

No fewer than 27 criminal suspects have been arrainged at the Kwara State Magistrate Court by the Kwara State Police Command in Ilorin, the state capital on Tuesday.
According to investigations conducted by our reporter, the suspects were brought to court to stand trial for cultism, armed robbery, rape, breach of trust, fraud, theft and reckless driving among other crimes committed at different locations in Kwara in the last three months.

According to the Police First Information Report (RIR), 27 suspects in 18 reports brought by the police were arrainged before different magistrates sitting in Ilorin for the offences committed and the cases have been fixed for hearing at later date.

It would be recalled that for the past three months, Kwara State Judiciary had joined the national body of the association in a nationwide strike to press home for the autonomy of the judiciary from the federal and state governments.
The investigations further confirmed that the Kwara State judicial staff have suspended their strike action while the negotiation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Comptroller of Correctional Services, Mr. Baba Aliu said the service is determined to ensure a decongestion of police cells and allow for quick dispensation of justice, lamenting on insufficiency of operational vehicles.
