Kero, Yakiru Communities Appreciated KWSG Over Restoration Of Power Supply


The people of Kero and Yakiru Communities in Baruten local government area have expressed their appreciation to the Kwara State Government under the administration of Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq for put an end to the age-long power outage.



Kero and Yakiru Communities are located in Gwanara District of Baruten local government area have joined to the national grid by the present government.


The two communities have been in total darkness for quite long, but Governor Abdulrasaq’s administration heard the cries and put an end to it.



While handling over the facilities to the communities, the honourable Commissioner for Energy, Mallam Lafia Aliyu Kora Sabi urged the residents of the communities to ensure that the facilities are properly secured.



He also charged all traditional rulers, religious leaders, political stakeholders and other concerned members of the communities to assist the government in the maintenance of the facility in guiding against the vandslization of cables and other essential facilities.


He said the charge has become imperatives due to persistent vandalisation of government facilities cables Okuta-Yashikira axis, describing the act as a way of hindering the regular power supply to many other communities within the local government area and the entire state at large.



He said “This administration, within the available meagre resources making unrelenting efforts to ensure that every parts of the state enjoys uninterrupted power supply, stressing that the government is facing problems of facilities vandalisation especially in rural communities.


“We therefore, call on concerned stakeholders to assist the government by appealing to miscreant people to stop the act as government would make sure that the culprits, irregardless of status will face the wrath of the law when caught.
