In the bid to further ensure synergy among media Publishers in Kwara state, a popular Radio station, Albarka FM, has expressed its readiness to partner the umbrella body of online publishers in the state, Kwara Online Publishers Association of Nigeria (KOPAN).

The Chairman of the station, Rasheed Adigun, who gave the assurance on Tuesday while playing host to members of the association noted that the Herculean task of accurately informing and sensitizing the public would be much more easier when publishers are partners in progress.

In his words, “This visit is a welcomed development. You will agree with me that media publishers need to be partners in progress for us to be able conveniently carry out our duties.

“Information flies around every second and whether we like it or not a single media outfit can not cover all the news item that happens.

Moreover, “our reach differs. These are some of the reasons why we need one another.

“So your visit is a refreshing one and we assure you of our utmost support in every way we can.”

Earlier, the interim chairman of KOPAN, Ogbeni Hammed Adedayo Said, had disclosed that the visit was to intimate the management of the station of the presence of the association in the state.

Giving a background to the existence of KOPAN, the chairman disclosed that, “A group of online publishers in Kwara state came together some months ago and decided to create a platform where we can interact, share ideas and, most importantly, forge a common front.

“We are independent minded and have no friend or foe rather we are guided by the principle of fairness and equity. All our members are nonpartisan, journalism is our party and serving the people is our major focus.”
