Kwara Came 1st In Zonal, 6th At Queen Of Mathematics National Competition


A student of Shamsudeen Junior Secondary School, Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, Miss Zakariyah Aishat  who represented kwara state emerged first position in North Central zone.

She also clinched the sixth position in the overall National competition of Queen Mathematics Competition in an event that took place in Abuja on Monday at the National Mathematical Center.


She emerged 6th position behind Imo, Rivers Lagos, Anambra and Edo states in that order after a highly contested preliminary mathematics competitionh were the Kwara State representative gave a good account of herself.

In the North Central rating, Kwara state emerged as first position followed by FCT, Abuja, Plateau, Kogi, Nasarawa and Niger states was one of the few states that failed to qualify for the finals.

The event took place in Abuja today at the National Mathematical Center

Kwara State has in recent months participated in Zonal and National competitions where students from the state have distinguished themselves in different school competitions.

In diferent categories of the competition  the applause of policy makers and analysts credited the improved academic performance to the renewed efforts by the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in ensuring that education is given top priority through provision of requisite manpower and welfare.
