Kwara CSO Makes Case For An End To Child Labour, Human Trafficking ,Seeks NSCDC Collaboration

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command is ready to partner with relevant organizations and individuals in order to find permanent solution to child labour, human trafficking and other migration related issues in the country.

The Kwara State Commandant of the NSCDC Iskilu Ayinla Makinde made the pledge on Friday while playing host to the executive members of a non governmental organization, Civil Society on Migration and Development, Kwara State chapter who were on a courtesy visit to thee NSCDC state headquarters in Ilorin on Friday.

According to a release signed by the spokesman of the NSCDC in the State Babawale Zaid Afolabi the civil society organizations were at the NSCDC state headquarters to seek the corps supports in terms of capacity building , training and retraining, sharing of knowledge and intelligence and information gathering.

In his remark the Commandant frowned at the apathy and reluctance of the populace to share valuable intelligence information that can aid the work of the security operatives adding that people are always unwilling to give out information.

The Commandant used the occasion to announce the efforts of the NSCDC to make sure that the corps has more divisional offices across all the 16 local governments areas of the State ” at present NSCDC has more than 27 divisional offices across the 16 local governments and our plan is to make sure that NSCDC has outpost/office at every three kilometers across the State” the Commandant explained

In his address, the state coordinator of the organisation Bashiru Kehinde sought better and result oriented working relationship between them and NSCDC adding that their organization and the Corps could achieve much in term of training and sharing of intelligence information as they have access to the people than the security agencies.
