Kwara ‘Efura’ Elders’ Forum Will Supports Gober Candidate From Kwara North In 2023

Ahead the 2023 gubernatorial elections in the state, the Kwara-Central Stakeholders Consultative Forum (Efura), on Sunday declared their resolution to support only candidates from the northern senatorial district of the state.
This was the crux of a special prayer program organised by the group and held at Mandate Hall, Adeta, Ilorin.
Speaking at the programme, the state Chairman of the forum, Comrade Bisi Fakayode urged the gathering to ensure they get their PVC and exercise their Civic duties in the coming elections.
On the choice of the forum supporting a candidate from Kwara North for the position of Governor in 2023, Comrade Fakayode said it was only logical and in tandem with the policy of the forum which is equity, Justice and fairness.
He urged representatives from the northern senatorial district not to let Kwarans down but to speak with one voice in fielding a credible and accepted candidate come 2023.
Speaking in the same view, the Chairman Kwara Central Senotorial District of the forum, Dr. Suleiman Atolagbe Alege, (fism) said the senatorial district is favourably disposed to supporting any candidate from Kwara North for the position of Governor come 2021.
In their goodwill messages, the coordinates for Asa, Ilorin-East, Ilorin-South and Ilorin-West also supported the decision.
The Hausa community and youth group also spoke in support.
In his response, the chairman of the forum in Kwara North, Comrade Abdullah Lade assured that the North will speak with one voice and present a single candidate without any rancour.
Three prominents Muslim clerics among others who delivered sermon on equity, Justice and fairness.
The trio, Sheikh Hamzat Ajinikiru, Shiekh Uthman Sonu Sheu and Ustaz Abdulrazaq Aduragba spoke on the need for a compassionate leader in the society who would be committed to the yearnings of the masses and not just a section of the society.
A communique issued at the end of the prayer session disclosed that the program was attended by representatives from all the 52 wards in the four local governments of kwara central and representatives from Kwara North and South.

Cordinators, Asa local government, Ilorin East, Ilorin South and Ilorin West, commended security agencies in the state for their current levels of professionalism and dedication.
The forum however, called on the state government to hold local government election, absorb the sacked sun-set workers without further delay and also pay the minimum wage for civil servants to restore dignity to the service to reduce current level of poverty in the state.
Present at the prayer are the former Minister of of the federation, Hon. Isa Bio Ibrahim, former House of Representatives member, Hon. Zakari Mohammed, former ambassador, Prof. Yisa Gana, former house of assembly member, Hon. Matthew Okedare, Hon. Abdullahi Duro Mohammed, Hon. Taiwo Abdullahi, Hon. Ayishat Ibrahim and Iya-loja, Hajia Adenike Lambe who led others marketers in the state to the programme.
