The First Lady of Kwara State and Kwara TB Champion, Her Excellency, Ambassador, Dr. Mrs. Olufolake Abdulrazaq on Tuesday attended the Opening Ceremony of the 4th Edition of the National TB conference held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The Theme of this year’s TB Congress is “sustaining A resilient TB response in Nigeria: Addressing the impact of Covid-19 and other diseases.
As part of the First Lady’s contribution to stem the tide of Tuberculosis in the State, she has engaged in advocacies and has inaugurated Kwara State Stop TB Partnership to raise local resources for the fight against Tb in Kwara State through her office and the Ajike people support centre.
“We have equally facilitated activities that are geared towards awareness creation and community sensitization on Tuberculosis.
“We have equally produced interactive videos in English and local languages to create awareness and improve our people’s knowledge of TB; its burden, transmission and preventive strategies”, she said.
The dignitaries were conducted round the community village which showcases the activities of tb stakeholders and vital information including toll numbers.
The conference organized by the Stop TB Partnership Nigeria is expected to come to an end on 11th November 2021 with an Award and special Recognition ceremony where Her Excellency Ambassador Dr Olufolake Abdulrazaq will be conferred with the award of most outstanding TB Champion in Nigeria.
