Kwara Gov Inspects Ilorin Under Construction ICT Innovation Hub

 

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahm AbdulRasaq has on Friday personally paid an unscheduled visit to Ilorin under construction Inovation hub centre to ascertain the level of works done.

The unscheduled visit came as a surprise to the contractor handling the project as they were not aware of the governor’s visit.

The Ilorin Innovation Hub after completion will provide a conducive and enabling environment for kwara youths to learn how to use modern technology and strive in creating value in modern technology.

It has become most crucial for the state government under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahmam AbdulRasaq to facilitate local participation in the digital revolution as the entire world is now moving to online services as important tool for survival.

Kwara youths will be able to learn software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, graphic design, social media, digital marketing and many other modern technologies via the training programs and activities at the Innovation Hub centre.

It will prepare them for global Outsourcing, youths will learn modern technology skills required to join the global workforce and will be able to work remotely for companies around the world right here from in Kwara which will increase IGR for the State.

It will also help the youths in the state to start-up entrepreneurship and be able to scale into bigger companies.

The Governor AbdulRazaq administration aims at encourage and provide incentives for struggling start-ups in bigger cities to relocate their businesses to Kwara in order to create jobs opportunity and increase IGR for the state.

These activities will as well boost the local economy by training unemployment youths, creating jobs, triggering foreign investment and creating a robust technology value chain from hardware vendors to network engineers and internet service providers within Kwara State.

The Innovation Hub is also partnering with organizations like MTN, Google, Microsoft, and Facebook to bring in their resources for the growth and development of Kwara youths.
