Kwara NSCDC Arrests 3 Teenagers Over Burglary, Theft


The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has arrested three suspects who are members of a 5-man robbery gang who specialized in stealing engines and other parts of vehicles from mechanics.

The arrested suspects are; Dauda Wasiu 17, Qowiyu Kareem, 18 and Daud Bello 18 years old.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Kwara State Command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi noted that operatives of the NSCDC are currently on the trail of two other suspects; Dada Durojaye and Jamiu Fawaz who are on the run.
Babawale said that the gang specializes in raiding mechanics shops and garages to steal vehicles engines and other parts when the mechanics have left their places of work.

According to the NSCDC said, “On Sunday 24th of October, 2021, one Yusuf Muritala came in to lodge a complaint about missing vehicle engine and other parts where the things were kept and mentioned names of the suspects”.


He spoke further that the three suspects were later rounded up at their hideouts at Offa Garage while the remaining two are on their wanted list.

One of the suspects Dauda Wasiu has confessed to the stealing of the motor engine adding that he was only given two thousand naira after the operation.
