Kwara NSCDC Arrests Man, 25, Over Assault, Attempted Fraud

The men of Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has arrested a twenty five years old, Muhammed Abubakar for allegedly assaulted a civil defence officer after attempt to defraud POS operators and filling station attendant.

NSCDC spokesman of Kwara State Command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi disclosed this in a ptrss release signed and made available to the newsmen in Ilorin on Saturday said the suspect committed the offence at Amoyo area in Ifelodun local government of the state.

“On Saturday 11/12/2021, we received a distress call at our Amoyo division over a case of assault, attempted fraud and stealing by trick levelled against one Muhammed Abubakar, 25, who was accused to have made attempt to defraud a filling station attendant Abdulraheem Nafisat of a sum more than fifty thousand naira”.

The press release added that the suspect bought fuel and another yougourt product in the filling station and also asked the attendant to transfer sum of 50, 000,00 naira to his account. The suspect was expected to pay cash to the POS operator which he declined and made attempt to leave the filling station without pay.

The POS/ filling station attendant later raised alarm which attracted officers of the NSCDC and the man was later picked the race, it was reported that he assaulted one of the NSCDC officers during the course of intervention.

In a further investigation, it was also revealed that the suspect was a serial fraudster who had been defrauding some receptionist and supermarkets attendant.

However, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Iskilu Ayinla Makinde has been briefed on the incident and ordered for full scale of investigation into the matter and the suspect will later be charge to court.
