Kwara NSCDC Boss Solicits More Involvement Of Corps In Global Fight Against Disaster, Pandemics


A call has solicited for the international community and other stakeholders to capitalize on the potential of the NSCDC operatives in a momentum of coordinated management of the movement of people and the fight against the ongoing pandemics.
This was contained in a press statement released and made available to newsmen by the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Babawale Zaid Afolabi (SC) said Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, joins rest of the world to mark 2022 edition of the International Civil Defence Day.

Kwara State Commandant of the NSCDC Makinde Iskil Ayinla disclosed this on Tuesday in the goodwill message he delivered on the occasion of the world civil Defence Day( WCDD) at the state command’s headquarters in Ilorin.


Speaking in the back drop of the 2022 theme tagged: ” Civil Defence and Management of Displaced Populations in face of Disaster and Crises; Role of Volunteers And The Fight Against Pandemics”, the Commandant explained that the NSCDC constitutes the closest to the realities of the communities and are also the least expensive resources.

In his address, Kwara State Governor Abdul Rahman Abdul Rasaq congratulated NSCDC on the occasion of their day seizing the opportunity to improve in their synergy with other security agencies to rid the state of the criminal elements.

Represented by the SA to the governor on Security Matters, Alhaji Muhideen the governor reiterated in the readiness of the state government to always supports security operatives in the State.

There were goodwill messages from the service chiefs that grace the occasion.
Among the dignitaries at the occasion are the commissioner of police, Kwara state.
