The Anti Human Trafficking Unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corpse ( NSCDC) of Kwara State Command have dragged a 74-years old man, Emmanuel Damisa before a magistrate court sitting in Ilorin over alleged rape.
The suspect who residing at Agba dam road, Tanke Ilorin has been arrested by NSCDC while having canal knowledge of a 10 years-old girl, simply identify as Memunat on the 22nd day of March, 2021.
According to the First Information Report of the NSCDC which revealed that the suspect lured the victim with sixty naira (₦60.00) to have Canal knowledge of her.
It was reported that the Suspect issued a stern warning to the victim not to tell anyone about the act for the safety of her life.
The victim has confessed to the crime and pleaded for forgiveness.
The NSCDC prosecution, Barrister Kehinde Ajide, prayed the court not grant the suspect bail to serve as deterrent to others because the rape cases have become rampant in the society.
In her rulling, the trial Magistrate, Chief Magistrate O.A. Adeniyi ordered for the remand of the suspect at Oke-Kura correctional centre Ilorin pending the outcome of investigations.
The Court however, adjourned the case till 22nd of April, 2021 for further hearing.
