The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command on Friday intercepted a petrol-laden truck from suspected vandals at Laduba village via Afon in Asa local government area of the state.
The NSCDC Commandant in Kwara State, Makinde Iskil Ayinla who disclosed this in a press statement through the command’s Public Relations Officer, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, said the suspected vandals took to their heels on sighting the Anti-vandal squard of the corps while on patrol in the middle of the night.
The 33,000 litres truck containing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly called petrol, fell on the ground while trying to escape.
According to Makinde, the fleeing suspects will soon be tracked down, apprehended and prosecuted.
He reiterated the commitment of the NSCDC in fighting insecurity, noting that its Commandant-General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi is determined to protect all government infrastructures.
