Kwara NSCDC Receives 1,027 Cases, Promises To Compensate Death Officers’ Family

The Kwara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) received 1, 027 cases, bordering on different offences, from the 16 Local Government Areas of the state, in the year 2021.

The State Commandant of NSCDC, Commandant Makinde Ayinla stated this during a press conference in Ilorin on Tuesday held at the command headquarters disclosed that the cases bordered on different offences inlude theft, assaults, lands disputes, rape, criminal breach of trust, burglary and debts among others.

He explained that 31 cases were prosecuted with 6 convictions, while 24 cases were still in court while 378 are under investigation and 534 were resolved through Alternative Dispute Resolution.

The statement said 3 cases were transferred to the appropriate agencies, 50 were later withdrawn from courts after due procedure and over N5 million recovered.

The commandant however, said that six officers from the Command were prosecuted for misconducts, while 45 officers were given award of excellence, at the 2021 End of Year Party and Award Night.

According to him, “two of the officers have been transferred out of the state while the remaining four were taken to the National Headquarters, for disciplinary action”.

The commandant however, said that no death has been recorded during the cause of work in 2021 in the state, adding that the Commandant General, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi promised to compensate family of dead officers during course of work.
