Kwara NUJ Chairman Inaugurates New NOA NUJ Exco. …Commissioned Chapel Secretariat, Newsroom

 

The chairman of NUJ in Kwara state, Comrade Lanre Ahmed has said training and retraining of journalists in the state will take utmost priority during his administration.

Speaking while inaugurating the new exco for the NOA chapel of NUJ kwara state council, Comrade Ahmed Lateef said Council is ready to partner with NOA in any area of programming that would improve journalism profession in the state.

He said the delaying by not inaugurating the chapel as earlier requested by the Chapel was for him to check that those presented to the council by NOA chapel of NUJ are professional qualified members .

Comrade Ahmed said he was happy to inaugurate the NOA chapel executive and charged members to discharge their duties objectively without being biased.

He congratulated the new exco as majorities of those who served in the first three years as mandated by NUJ Constitution were unanimously

Earlier the chairman of the Credentials committee, Pastor Lucas Ige said those presented today were the qualified members of the Chapel.

Those elected unopposed were Ajibade Adegbayibi as chairman, Mr Segun Adeyemi as Vice chairman, Suleman Bimbo as Secretary, Assistant secretary goes to Comrade Kolapo Ayinla, Treasurer Mrs Okunola Teslimat, Financial secretary Mrs Benedict Ezeruke and Auditor is Samson Adetona.

In his acceptance speech, the new chairman of the NOA Chapel, Mr Ajibade Adegbayibi thanked members for electing him again saying he would try his best to leave a good legacy at the end of his tenure.

He thanked the Chairman of NUJ Comrade Ahmed for the inauguration of the chapel excos and the commissioning of the Chapel’s Secretariat on the 5th floor ,Federal Secretariat Complex

Earlier, in his message at the occasion, the state Director of NOA in Kwara state Mr Segun Adeyemi commended the good work of outgone exco.

Present at the event were the secretary of the council Dcn Tayo Ayanda, Monsud Sarumi the council Auditor, chairman Sobi FM Chapel Comrade Dare Akogun as well as Elder Wole Adedeji of the correspondent”s chapel.
Highlight of the ceremony include the commissioning of new secretariat and news room of the chapel by the chairman of NUJ Kwara council, Comrade Ahmed Lateef.
