Kwara Police Intensify Efforts To Curb Insecurity , Gives Update Of Events As Ritual Killing Increases

The Kwara State Police Command has recently released updates on the recurring criminal events in the State.

 

According to the statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer; SP Okasanmi Ajayi on Monday stated that the abductors of one Kafayat Jamiu has been arrested.

 

The victim who was said to have been abducted by unknown gunmen on Friday, 24th September, 2021, while sleeping in her room in Olupo farm settlement, Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, has been rescued unhurt.

 

However, the kidnappers escaped with bullet injuries and one locally fabricated Assault riffle with four AK 47 live ammunitions were recovered.

 

SP Okasanmi further stated that the command has also arrested a man in Offa while he was in the process of burying a corpse at Ikotun area in Offa on Saturday, 25th September, 2021.

 

The man identified as one Alade James confessed to have killed the 9year old girl identified as Faith Samuel for money making rituals.

 

The command has recovered the body of the deceased with the #1000 note buried with her and the body has been deposited at the mortuary.

 

While the Commissioner of Police Kwara State Command; CP Tuesday Assayomo has ordered a discreet investigation into the murder, the parents of the deceased has been contacted.

 

Furthermore, the command has confirmed the kidnap of one Raji Abike and her two daughters; Raji Zainab and Raji Aliya as reported by the husband; one Raji Ibrahim Abidemi of TAIISA fuel station Omu-Aran.

 

SP Okasanmi noted that according to the report of Mr Raji, his wife and two daughters were abducted by unknown gunmen who were fired shots into the air to scare people away on September 24, 2021.

 

While the command has intensified efforts to ensure the release of the victims, the Commissioner of Police; CP Tuesday Assayomo sternly warned criminals to relocate completely from Kwara State.
