KWEPA inaugurates new board members

Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) has on Monday inaugurates the newly constituted Board Members for the agency.

The Board Members which includes, Chairman, Hon. Paul Zhiri Tsowa (JP), Alada Mumin (member), Nicholas Agboola (member), Alhaja Kudirat Issa Alagogo (member) and Saidu Hawau (member).

The General Manager of the agency, Alhaji Saad Ayuba Danmusa, in his welcome remark, said the agency are highly welcome the chairman and other members of the board, stating that there would be a cooperation among the management and the staff of the KWEPA and newly appointed board members and also praying that May Almighty Allah raise the glory of the agency to the height.

According to the Board Chairman, Hon. Paul Zhiri Tsowa (JP), in his opening remark, thanks His Excellency, Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his commitment and sense of purpose and direction which is indelible in repositioning agencies and parastatals in the state.

“I want to assure His Excellency that we shall justify the confidence reposed on us and I must say, we should consider ourselves lucky to be part of this revolution. I therefore congratulate my colleague members and myself on our well-deserved appointment. I wish us successful tenure in office”, Hon. Tsowa said.

He stressed that “I sincerely acknowledge and appreciate the great task before us in transforming the agency to meet the realities of the changing environment in order to sustain the relevance of the establishment. We however acknowledge the great works that have been done by top management as well as other key stakeholders of the agency in the past”.

“It is my wish to remind us as members of this important Governing Council that we have been carefully selected to serve in this capacity not because of our closeness with His Excellency but for our admirable qualities, worth of experience and our faithfulness with the present administration”, he said.

Hon. Tsowa also stated that, “In achieving the vision of His Excellency, I have spent the last few days to reflect on the activities of the agency with a view to envisioning new ideas and opportunities for its transformation and growth. The vision of this agency, as we are all aware, is to promote a safe and heany envirornment for the use of people to live in and ensure sustainable development for the purpose of the use of the anvironment”.

“It is important for us to understand that times have changed while the task before us requires great innovations, dedication and commitment. It is apparent to note that a tree cannot form a forest. I will therefore welcome contributions, inputs from you all to design appropriate road map of our activities. We shall value your opinions, your ideas and your constructive criticisms for the agency to achieve great heights.”

“I can assure you all that there shall be no restrictions whether from old or young minds, to the quantum of ideas, initiatives or advices you are willing to give towards the realization of the noble objectives of this agency within the period of our tenure”.

“To all members of staff of the Agency, I want to request for your support and full cooperation. The notion of business as usual should be crippled. All departments must think outside the box and be dedicated to duties. I am more confident in our collective ability to make the necessary difference. We shall all work together with everyone playing his/her part in order to achieve our aspirations for this Agency”, he concluded.
