KWHA Suspends Hon. Agboola For Derogatory Statements

The Kwara State House of Assembly has suspended member representing Ilorin South Constituency, Hon. Jimoh Raheem Agboola on Alleged of contempt and abuse of privilege.
This is sequel to a Motion Without Notice moved by the House Leader, Hon Abubakar Mogaji Olawoyin while leading the debate on the motion in the house said the Assembly is an institution that must be respected by members.
The House Leader accused Hon. Agboola of making a despairable comment about the House, stressing that he was calling out the masses to stage a protest against the government and the House of Assembly on a radio programe.
He regarded such act at this period of insecurity as unsafe and could lead to chaos, noting that Hon. Agboola disrespected the Honorable House is already trending on social media, urging the speaker for investigation of the matter.
The Honourable representing Isin Constituency, Hon. Awolola Olumide Ayokunle said, derogatory statements against the House should not be condone, especially, when such language is found out to be false.
He urged the House to make proper investigation on the matter before any action could be taken.
Speaker Yakubu Salihu Danladi assured the House of adequate investigation and directed the House Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Judiciary to conduct investigation on the matter and reports it’s finding to the House as soon as possible.
He also directed Hon. Agboola to seize from attending Plenary pending the conclusion of the investigation.
