Kwara State Police Command have arraigned a middle age man before a magistrate court sitting in Ilorin on two count charge for an alleged criminal conspiracy and capable homicide contrary to section 97 and 221 of penal code law on Tuesday.
One Bahago Sarkin Wasagu who residing at Kpada village in Patigi local government area of kwara state was arrested by the police in connection with the crime.
According to FIR Wasagu was later arrested in his hindeout a Fulani camp via Kpada village following the information received by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the command.
According to the First Information Report of the Nigeria Police the Suspect was on 13/03/2021 one Francis Nicodemus of Kpada village reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters Patigi that the some Fulani boys went to a beer parlour at Kpada village to cause commotion.
Investigations revealed that one Ibrahim Mada was macheted severely on his leg and rushed to the hospital for medical treatment but was later confirmed dead by medical officer in-charge.
Further Investigations carried out by the police shown that a brother to the suspect simply identify as Ali who is now at large was fingered in the disturbance that led to the death of victim.
In his defence, the suspect claimed not guilty to the charges and applied for bail.
The police prosecutor, Mr. S. Olayide prayed the court to reject the suspect’s bail application, pointing out that if the suspect granted bail he might jeaopadize the ongoing police investigations.
In her rulling, Magistrate Mrs. T. F. Ajayi refused to grant the application bail of the suspect and ordered for the remand of the suspect at correctional centre Ilorin.
The case has been adjourned till 20th of April, 2021 for further hearing
