The Vice Principal of Musbaudeen College of Arabic and Islamic Institute, Ganmo in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State has explained why the affected students of the institution were punished.
He said some students committed the atrocity by drinking alcohols that Allah forbidden His creators not to consume let a lone Muslim students, explaining that drinking of alcohol is totally prohibited by for human consumption.
He said that on Sunday penultimate last, some students of the institution were invited to an hotel in Ilorin the for celebration of one their colleagues’ birthday was where they were served with alcohols.
The vice principal said “We are not aware of the incidence but one of the parents drawn our attention to a video and pictures posted to his mobile phone status by one of the students who attended the party.
“Since then we have been receiving distress call from alumni of the school all over the country demanding for details explanation on the punishment and wonder how Arabic and Islamic students could treated in the manner.
“And we have been explaining to them on what they did as Muslim students, disclosing that some parents demanded for the punishment and they must be punished at theirs presence to justify their offence”, the vice principal said.
He further said some of the parents were not satisfied with the punishment as they were disappointed by the attitude of their students, adding that the school management even pleaded with the parents trade softly on the issues.
One of the Suspected students, Nasif Manshood denied of drinking alcohol, confirming that he was among attendees of birthday party.
He said he was not there to drink alcohol but he rejoiced with the celebrant with soft drinks.
“I was not aware that the party was captured by someone until Saturday last week and sent on social media for people’s viewing, confirming that alcohols were truly served on the tables but non of them taste it except soft drinks”, he disclosed.
Speaking with Nigeria Real News Online, one of the mothers of the students who declined to mention her name expressed sadness over the incident narrated how she always monitoring her daughter.
She lamented that she was surprised and feel disappointed with the attitude of her daughter as care for her whom she is training to be a good mother and confidently becomes a renown cleric in future.
