The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba Alkali, said there is no more short cut or Windows promotion for the officers of Nigeria Police Force across the country.
IGP stated this during his one-day working visit to the Kwara State Police Command in Ilorin, the state capital on Wednesday.
He said there would be training and retraining for the vibrant officers that would give efficience service delivery to the force, disclosing that President Mohammadu Buhari has approved the recruitment of ten thousand eligible young Nigerian into the police force.
He assured that the recruitment exercise will capture interested sons and daughters across all 774 local governments of the country, explaining that after the training they will take them back to their various local communities to service.

He advised kwara command to change their attitude towards official duty, urging them to increase their commitment, dedication, loyalty obiduent to constituted authority, warning them against of all forms of immoral attitude that can tarnish the good image of the force.
He asked them to desist from extortion, bribery, corruption immorality because things that came through bad ways will definitely go in bad ways, encouraging them to give maximum support to their wives to be skill acquisition.
He said the Police Officers Wives Association of Nigeria ( POWAN) including the widows among them need the support of their husbands, explaining that gone are the days when officers will close to hotels for enjoyments of rough life.
He said the community policing committee relations is a group of well-meaning Nigeria who have devoting their time and lives for the safety of others in the societies, saying that they have nothing to gain but have a lot to give to the community.
IGP explained that members of community policing come together as group to support the police in their activities in fighting, prevention and control crime with their moral, energy and financial support with out pay.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, Mr. Emienbo Assayomo Tuesday, said that the visit of IGP to the state is a manifestation of his commitment to surmounted the securitychallenges of Nigeria.
He elougized the focuse and purposeful leadership of the IGP on the fighting the insurgency, pointing out that Nigerian now aware that security challenges in South-South, South-East, South-South-West and North Central have been standstill under the new IGP.
He said Kwara is a mult-tribes, mult-religous and mult-culturals with international boundaries with Osun, Oyo, Kogi, Ondo and Niger states, lamenting that kwara is facing the problems of porous borders.
“You ‘ve done much for us in Kwara command interms of logistics support, but Oliver the twist, we are still looking at you for more support interms of vehicles, communication, tracking gadgets and more man power.
Commissioner of Police, Assayomo appreciated the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq for the command’s supports, commending him over the vehicles donated recently and for the renovation of Police baracks.
Earlier in the day, the IGP and his entourage have visited the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq at Government House Ilorin, paid a traditional homage to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari.
He met with the press and held a brief meeting with the police officers at Police Headquarters Ilorin then move to Share in Ifelodun local government of the state.
