Plateau Unrest: Stranded UNIJOS Students Back Home…ASUU Decries Regular Sttacks On Students, Staff

Kwara State Government on Sunday ordered the evacuation of students of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) who are indigenes of the state following the recent killings in Plateau State.
The state government embarked on the evacuation of students following an appeal by the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS).
This was made known in a statement released by the Present of NAKSS, Muftau Mubarak Shittu, said the group had sought the assistance of the state government for the quick evacuation of stranded students.
The government took the decision to evacuate the students following the ugly incident in Jos the Plateau state capital, the statement pointed out that the leadership of the (NAKSS) sought the support of the Kwara State government to assist with vehicles.
The statement added that vehicles were used to convey Kwara students who schooling in Jos back home to safeguard the lives and property of the students.
In the same vain, the chairman of ASUU in the university, Dr. Lazarus Maigoro, condemned the recent violence in Jos and its environs, describing the recent attacks on students of the university as “sad and unfortunate.
He said ”We wondered why the institution, which is a citadel of learning, had remained a major target for criminals during every unrest in Jos.
