The proposed construction of Tanke Fly-over project in Ilorin are reasonable because the project was long overdue and it ought to have been made a priority before now.
He said the fly-over will not only ease traffic congestion in the Tanke area but will also boost socio-economic development of the people, it will also gives access to social services and contribute to poverty reduction.
Awoyale who is the president of Orisun Igbomina, a socio-political group in Kwara state in a statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin on Monday said the Kwara state government has taken commendable and bold steps to improve on people’s lives through the proposed Tanke Fly-over project.
He urged Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to ignore distractors and ensure the contractor begins work on the Tanke Fly-over project with Immediate effect and bring it to completion within the shortest period.
“Residents of Tanke, the road users, know how the traffic congestion in the area have affected their overall well-being and you can better imagine how happy they would be if the government brings the project to completion, it will definitely ease traffic in that area”, he said.
The governor should, according to Awoyale remain focused and continue to fix infrastructure problems in the state.
Awoyale also said the opposition in Kwara state are confusionists who have not come up with constructive criticisms, submitting that the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has only chosen to mislead innocent APC members in the state through promotion of intra-party conflict.
“The opposition in Kwara state is with confused people, imagine the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed boasting that the APC congress will not hold in Kwara state yet, he joined others to hold parallel congress and later asked his supporters to take the party to court and still again participated in the just concluded local government congress by holding parallel congress,” he said.
The PDP has also not come up with constructive criticism,Dr. Bukola Saraki will only come to town and mobilize thugs to hail him. He has forgotten that Kwara has gone beyond that, thuggery is no longer in vogue here in Kwara.
“I actually commend Governor Abdulrazaq for remained unperturbed and keeping his cool because they cannot accept what they are doing to him.
“We all knew what Saraki did to late Mohammed Lawal as governor, Lawal was going somewhere in GRA but they asked him to turn back, they also reported him to the then President Obasanjo.
Saraki has been mobilizing thugs to welcome him to town but the governor has not even bothered about that as he rather focused on delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
There is a village in Patigi local government called Ndanaku, they had never had access to potable water until Governor Abdulrazaq got it done recently, asking the civil servants what their experience has been under the present government, they knew what they faced under the previous administrations.
“See what he has done to prevent flooding in Ilorin, he facilitated the ongoing dredging of Asa River and it has greatly helped to prevent flooding in the state capital’ he added.
