Queen Elizabeth School Ilorin Sets To Commission Central Mosque

Queen Elizabeth school was established in 1956 as a girls high school by late Sir Ahmadu Bello of Sokoto and commissioned by Queen Elizabeth of England and the foundation stone of the mosque was laid in 1977 and commissioned in 1979 and since then Muslims faithful have been observing (Friday) Juma’at prayer in the mosque.

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari has approved the commissioning of the mosque after the renovation.

The mosque renovation committee is invited all past principals, former teachers, current teachers and old students of the great institution for the commissioning of the mosque on Friday 3rd December, 2021 by the former Minister for Nation Economic Planning, Prof. Olarewaju Suleiman.

Special guest honour, Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Moddibo Sahadat, guest of honour, Kwara State Commissioner for Business Innovation, Hajia Arinola Fatimoh Lawal, quest speaker, Dr. Folorunsho Ahmad from University of Ilorin, Imam of the day, former Chief Imam University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdulgany Oladosu, chief hostesses are Principal of senior section, Hajia Sidikat Taye Lawal and the Principal UBE section, Hajia R.S. Lawal.

All past school principals, former teachers, current teschers and all old students of school and general public are equally invited to grace the occasion.
