Shops Demolition Order: Magaji Ga’a-Odota Community Calls For Re-Consideration

The Magaji Ga’a-Odota community in ilorin west Local Government area of Kwara State, Mallam Okanlawon Lambe has called on the state government to intervene on the ongoing crisis between the local government towns planing and the shop owners along Geri Alimi / Airport road Ilorin.

Lambe made the call on Wednesday at his palace during a peaceful protest by the affected shop owners at Ga’a-Odota area along Hajji Camp road who were ordered to vacate the area by the officers from the local government.

He explained that the state government needs to intervene on the issues as a matter urgency to averts crisis between the duo, pointing out that the action taken by the local government has become worrisome.

According to him,”As head of the community, honestly I am not happy with the development, they didn’t informed me about it, before taken such action.

“Though, the affected places is use to be a hidden place for ritualists, kidnappers and hideout for armed rubbers but since our people have started doing business on the land the activities of criminals have reduced.

“Now, you can freely worked down the road without fear and unlike before when hoodlums took over the area for crimes related offences and killed, dumping of corps along the road but now the place is busy with commercial activities”.

“I am using this medium to appeal to both the state, local and federal government to reconsidered their action on the land for the safety of life and properties of the residrnts and passersby”, he pleaded.
