Tender Your Resignation Letters Now, Kwara Gov Tells Political Appointees Seeking Elective Positions


Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has directed political appointees seeking elective position in 2023 to tender their resignation letters not later than April 15, 2022.

In a statement issued by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Mamman Saba Jibril, the governor said the recent Electoral Act 2022, signed by President Muhammadu Buhari, provides that political appointees aspiring to contest elections must resign their positions before the conduct of political party primaries.

It stated, “In line with provision of Section 84 (12) of the new Electoral Act, all Kwara State Government’s appointees seeking nominations for elective offices in the forthcoming primaries are hereby directed to resign”.


All resignation letters are to be submitted to the office of the Secretary to the Kwara State Government not later than 15th April, 2022″
