Our crew of reporters went round town to sample people’s opinion on indecent dressing among some students even the married women in the society.
An adage says:The way you dress is the way you will be addressed.
According to Mr. Emmanuel Popoola a shoe vendor at challenge junction in Ilorin who said indecent dressing in our society is an act of bad behaviour, such as immodest which is also known as dress to kill is very common among colleges of education, polytechnic, university of students especially the female ones.
Dress in such manner all with the aim of looking sexy and attractive instead of dressing in a responsible way. It can also lead to rape and sexual harassment, our image sometimes saves us from being the victim of all these immoral acts.
What do you think about parents who has no control over their children indecent dressing?
While comments on the indecent dressing, one of food sellers at post office area in Ilorin, Mrs. Ramatu Babatunde said parents must dress well before their children and teach them how to dress properly at all the times.
She said this will serve as an example to their children. Some parents will teach their children in a Godly way and still yet those children choose to change to another person and dressed badly out side their home.
This also as a result of parents upbringing and their peers group. She also made a Proverb saying “Spare The Rod And Spoil The Child”
What comes to your mind when you see a Person dress indecently?
According to Mr. Sunday Agboola a civil servant said “I sometimes wonder why some people dress in such manner, most likely dress like a prostitute and this maybe be as a result of what they see on social media.
What can be done to correct it?
A student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Miss. Bolu Olaniyan concludes that the only way to stop indecent dressing is by harassing them in public, we all have to come together to make bold step so as to leave a society where the next in-coming generation will become a reliable leaders of tomorrow.
