UK Based NGO Tackles Female Students Period Poverty, As Principal Requests More Classrooms.

A Non-Governmental Organisation based in United Kingdom, Being a Muslim Black Girl (BMBG) and Feed the vulnerable families in Nigeria have organised one day seminar for the senior students of Government Girls Day Senior Secondary School Pakata, Ilorin on Friday.
The team leader of the organisation in Kwara, Barrister Jimoh Maryam Oluwatoyin said that the programme was to sensitize the period poverty girls in the school, adding that it would help them on the effective use sanitary pads during their menstrual period.
She stressed that organisation is on the mission to sensitize ladies that monthly period is absolutely normal, advising them not fell ashamed whenever they see their menstruation.
She pointed out that the programme has opened the eyes of participants against the use of rags, cotton and some other things that can hurt their body as women.
She however, disclosed that she was an old students of the school, assuring them of constant free supply of sanitary pads to students as one the Girls only college in Ilorin West Local Government at every month.
Speaking with NigeriaRealNews reporter, the principal of the school, Hajia Nurat Adeyoola Shuaib commended the efforts of the organisers for organising such a programme in her school.
She said she was happy that the organisation seems fit to sensitize my students on the need to keep themselves clean during their menstrual period, assuring that the programme will create more awareness for them.

She noted that some students lacked the required knowledge of how to manage themselves while menstruating, hoping that with the knowledge gained at the programme they will be able to cope.
The principal solicited for the upgrading of the school to full boarding school, demanding for construction of more classrooms to cater for unending admission request by parents.
She appealed to the state government under the administration of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to come to the aid of the school by construction of fence around the school.
